Section 01
The Sweet Spot
Most career advice starts with you. Myrtus starts with the world, then works inward.
There are moments when the world gets loud enough that you cannot ignore the signal anymore. This week, the signal is coming from critical minerals, defense supply chains, cybersecurity, CMMC, government capital, and the industrial-base rebuild.
At first, those may sound like policy stories, market stories, or technical stories. But they are also career stories. When capital moves, work follows. When requirements change, new roles appear. When industries become strategically important, people who can translate risk, operations, compliance, finance, communication, governance, and technology become more valuable.
That does not mean you need to become a mining engineer, a defense contractor, or a cybersecurity expert overnight. It means you can pause and ask a better question: where does what I already know intersect with where demand is growing?

Where you are now is not the end of the map.
It is the starting point. Your job this week is not to overhaul your life. It is to notice one place where your skills, energy, and the market are beginning to point in the same direction.

The Signal From Sturnella
What is moving in the world, and why it matters for your next chapter.
The latest Core Sample episode, The Map Is Public, follows the Department of War's Investment Intelligence Center and the public dashboard tracking more than $6.5 billion in national-security capital across hundreds of investments. The Sturnella read is simple: government capital is not just money. It is a signal.

Critical minerals are becoming national-security infrastructure. The story is no longer only commodity prices. It is supply chains, domestic processing, financing, contracts, permitting, and governance. |

A pomodoro here is one focused work block of 55 minutes, followed by a short break. This week, do one or two. No more. Your goal is to map where you are, where demand is growing, and where you may want to move with purpose.

Name where you are now
Write your current skills in plain language. I manage projects. I read contracts. I organize messy information. I explain risk. I write clearly. I work with executives. I manage vendors. I ask good questions.

Name what is moving
Pick three demand signals: critical minerals, defense supply chains, CMMC, cybersecurity governance, AI risk, energy infrastructure, grant funding, federal contracting, or operational resilience.

Name what gives you energy
This matters. A pivot that ignores your energy becomes another version of burnout. Circle the work you want more of, not just the work you can tolerate.

Find the overlap
Could your project management background move into defense supplier readiness? Could your finance background move into critical minerals capital formation? Could your compliance background move into CMMC support? Could your writing background move into grant strategy, proposal support, or executive communications?

Take the one visible step
Not “pivot into defense.” Try: “message one person who works with defense suppliers,” “read one CMMC overview,” or “make a list of five companies in critical minerals that need governance, finance, compliance, operations, or communications support.”

AI That Helps
Use AI to translate the signal into a career move.
AI is most useful when you give it context, boundaries, and a practical outcome. This week, let it help you turn a big macro signal into a small, realistic move.

Build the table that helps you move before the crowd.
You are the CEO of your career, and no CEO runs the company alone. If you are exploring a pivot into a growing area, you do not need a perfect plan first. You need a better table.

A pivot is not a panic response. It is a grounded response.
When the world moves quickly, it is easy to confuse urgency with clarity. You do not need to sprint toward every signal. You need enough quiet to hear which one actually belongs to you.

If I trusted that my next chapter could be built one small step at a time, what would I stop forcing?
